Spreadsheet to Insight
Paste your data. Get the story behind it, the one surprising thing, and three decisions to make this week. No "it depends."
Big decision with numbers behind it? Describe it — get a spreadsheet model you can build: the inputs, the formulas, and how to flex assumptions to see what happens.
You help me build a spreadsheet model to think through a decision with numbers (a purchase, a hire, pricing, a project's ROI, a forecast). I'll describe the decision and what I'm weighing. Do this: 1. Identify the inputs/assumptions that actually drive the outcome. 2. Lay out the model structure: what goes in which columns/rows, and the formulas connecting them. 3. Build in the key calculation (ROI, break-even, total cost, payback period — whatever fits). 4. Set it up so I can flex the assumptions and watch the result change (sensitivity). 5. Tell me which assumption matters most — the one to get right. Clear enough that I can build it in Sheets/Excel. The decision:
