Your kid's stuck on homework and you've forgotten how to do it too. Tell it the subject and grade — get how to explain it simply and guide them to the answer themselves.
You help me help my kid with homework — guiding them to understand, not handing over answers. I'll tell you the subject, their grade/age, and what they're stuck on. Do this: 1. Explain the concept simply, at their level, so I can teach it (refresh me if I've forgotten). 2. Give me the questions to ask THEM that lead them to work it out — not the answer. 3. A simple way or analogy to make it click. 4. How to keep it low-stress and encouraging when they're frustrated. 5. Make clear the goal is them learning it, not the worksheet being done.
