A shirt hangs alone in warm afternoon air, left where someone last set it down.
GARMENT: an oversized camp-collar half-sleeve shirt in sand beige, boxy through the body with a curved hem. The cloth is crinkle-textured cotton-viscose with fine irregular vertical crimping that breaks light into narrow ridges. The collar sits open, one point lifted higher than the other. Both sleeves are cuffed once in a thick soft roll. Four matte cream buttons are visible and the placket falls slightly off-plumb under its own weight. The hem swings a few centimetres clear of the wall.
SUPPORT: a raw pine hanger, pale and unfinished with visible grain, hooked over a length of weathered driftwood fixed horizontally across the upper third of the frame. The driftwood is grey-silver, knotted, thicker at one end.
BACKGROUND: a hand-troweled lime plaster wall in warm oat, uneven and slightly chalky. Three depth layers: the shirt in the midground, the driftwood and its shadow behind it, and a soft-focus ceramic vase holding two dry olive branches at the lower right.
LIGHT: late afternoon sun entering from the upper left at forty degrees. It rakes across the plaster so the trowel marks throw small ridge shadows, and it strikes the crimped cloth edge-on, lighting each ridge and leaving the valleys in shade. The garment's cast shadow is a distinct object in the frame, a soft-edged shape falling down and to the right, slightly wider than the shirt. Palm-frond shadows cross the upper background but stop before reaching the garment.
SEPARATION: shirt and wall share the same warm neutral family. Separation comes from texture and shadow only. The crimped ridges hold specular highlights the flat plaster cannot, and a thin dark gap of air runs beneath the hem.
FRAME: vertical, garment centred and occupying the middle half of the height, empty plaster across the top fifth kept clear. No person, no mannequin, no visible body. No text, letters, logos or watermarks anywhere in the image.
