A length of silk falls from a single point and holds its own shape in the air.
GARMENT: an unstitched {ivory tissue silk} saree, one continuous flat length of cloth, no blouse, no stitching, no body. It is draped over a slim brass cross-arm and falls in two unequal halves. The near half drops as a stack of soft vertical pleats, each fold catching light along its leading edge. The far half sweeps outward and down, widening as it falls, and pools on the floor in one loose curve. A {deep gold zari} border runs the full length, a band four fingers wide carrying a fine {lotus-and-vine} weave. The border stays continuous and unbroken wherever the cloth turns. The pallu end carries a denser block of the same weave, finished with short twisted tassels.
ARMATURE: a slim matte brass pole with a short horizontal cross-arm, plain and unornamented, standing clear of the wall. It is deliberately understated; the cloth is the only subject.
BACKGROUND: a flat {deep emerald green} wall in even matte tone, meeting a floor of the same colour. Three depth layers: pooled hem foreground, hanging fall midground, plain wall behind.
LIGHT: a broad source high and to the left, raking across the cloth. It travels down the silk as a single moving band of highlight that brightens on each pleat ridge and dies in each valley, and strikes the zari at an angle so the metal thread flares in short bright dashes along the border. Shadow sits in the room and in the folds but never flattens the fabric: the cloth stays open and readable along its whole length. Shadows are amber and umber, never grey or blue.
PROPS: a low brass plinth at the left edge holding a single {unlit lotus oil lamp}, well clear of the cloth and never overlapping its outline.
FRAME: vertical, the fall running from upper frame to floor, the right third of the wall left plain.
Cloth only. No person, no body, no hands, no mannequin, no dress form. No text, lettering, logos or watermarks.
